Table etiquette – bread and drinks

Have you ever been at a restaurant and not known which glass or bread plate is yours? Table etiquette is something that confuses many – especially if your place setting is close to others on your left and right and you are surrounded by a huge dinner service.

Make an ‘OK’ symbol with both hands by curling your first finger round to your thumb. This will look like a b with your left hand so you know your bread plate is also on the left. The d shape with your right hand means you can take the glass on the right with no fear.
