Review: Acqua di Parma
For those of you who read my post: www.themitchelli.com/2010/09/the-top-aftershaves, you will know I am a long term fan of Acqua di Parma. It will be of no surprise when I tell you that I am genuinely excited of news that Harrods have a limited run of a special edition prestige bottle of this iconic eau de cologne. What may surprise you is the fact I was introduced to this wonderful scent by my four year old son. One day he returned home from spending the day with his aunt who had splashed some on him. Why am I telling you this? Acqua di Parma is one of those scents that smells so good you will never forget when you were introduced to it, it is truly memorable.
At first it is very citrus fresh, which soon mellows into a delicious spiced scent that is a class act. It is easy to see why Acqua di Parma has been a favourite of the refined gentleman for almost 100 years. Unlike the mass produced products from other prestige perfumeries, Acqua di Parma is still distilled entirely by hand, and the packaging is hand designed and expertly created by by master craftsmen using traditional methods.
The exclusive prestige edition has a magnificently packaged bottle with a cap made from wenge wood and bronze which takes 12 hours to produce. Never before has so much tradition gone into each and every bottle. If that wasn’t enough, it is famed for being the signature fragrance worn by Cary Grant, what more could you ask for!
This exclusive to Harrods edition is in very limited supply, so to make sure you either get yourself to knightsbridge and buy a bottle in store (you can’t beat a trip to Harrods when you want to indulge yourself), or order online here: Acqua di Parma at Harrods or click on the image above.
This new, prestige edition has been crafted by Acqua di Parma, celebrating the enduring success of Colonia Intensa by mixing its two signature materials, wenge wood and metal in its distinctive cap. Colonia Intensa is an aromatic, sophisticated scent that combines a sensual base of leather, cedarwood and neroli with fresh citrus top notes of Calabrian bergamot, Sicilian lemon and ginger.
Key notes: Calabrian bergamot, Sicilian lemon and ginger
This really is the one scent that has amazing wow factor. Acqua di Parma is one of the best kept secrets there is. Buy one of the limited edition prestige bottles and you too can smell like Cary Grant!
